Meet Hank. He’s a lot of fish.
Created from pieces of my actual dried paint palettes, Palette Fish Hank is a one-of-a-kind mixed-media original with a little more… presence than some of his fellow fish. Deep, moody greens make up his gloriously hefty body, while layers of aqua, coral, orange, pink, blue and metallic gold give him just enough flair to keep things interesting.
Each piece of dried acrylic paint is hand-cut, torn and layered onto canvas, preserving the brushstrokes, color mixtures, curled edges and happy accidents left behind from the painting process. His dimensional layers create shadows and texture that shift with the light—and that tiny orange eye gives Hank a personality all his own.
What began as scraps from the studio has been transformed into something entirely new: colorful, wonderfully imperfect, and impossible to recreate exactly.
Hank is one of one. And frankly, there’s only room for one Hank.
