Created from layers of my actual dried paint palette pieces, Thelma gives leftover bits of color from the studio an entirely new life. Her body is pieced together one scrap at a time, creating an almost sculptural surface filled with unexpected combinations of greens, blues, pinks, golds, and every wonderfully imperfect mark left behind from paintings past.
I especially love the movement in this girl—from that dramatic tail to her slightly sassy little mouth. No two palette fish could ever be recreated exactly, making Thelma a truly one-of-a-kind original with pieces of many paintings tucked inside.
