Created from pieces of my actual dried paint palettes, Palette Fish Earl is a one-of-a-kind mixed-media original with layers of golden yellow, warm ochre, orange, green, cream, and flashes of metallic gold. Each piece of dried acrylic paint is hand-cut, torn, and layered to create his delightfully imperfect shape—including that spectacular little mouth and an expression that suggests he has, in fact, seen enough.
Bits of old brushstrokes, unexpected color combinations, curled edges, and leftover texture from the painting process give Earl dimension and a history all his own. What began as remnants from other paintings has been reimagined into something entirely new.
Equal parts art and personality, Earl is colorful, dimensional, wonderfully wonky, and completely impossible to duplicate.
