Meet Leroy — a little rough around the edges, wildly colorful, and completely one of a kind.
Palette Fish Leroy is created from pieces of my actual dried paint palettes, saved from the painting process and given an entirely new life. Layers of richly colored acrylic paint are cut, torn, and arranged by hand to form his wonderfully wonky fins, textured body, and unmistakable personality. Look closely and you’ll find deep ocean blues, flashes of turquoise, sunny yellows, pinks, and even touches of metallic gold—each piece carrying remnants of another work of art.
Leroy is assembled on a 4” x 12” canvas, giving him a long, playful silhouette that’s perfect for a bookshelf, kitchen, coastal gallery wall, or any little spot that could use something unexpected. The dimensional palette pieces rise from the surface, creating beautiful texture and shadows that change depending on the light and viewing angle.
Because every scrap comes directly from my used palettes, this piece can never be recreated exactly. Leroy is part painting, part collage, and part happy accident—a tiny celebration of color, creativity, and making something beautiful from what would otherwise be discarded.
